Withthe DWCC in full swing, fashion is on the minds of many. Everyone is already planning their Dubai World Cup day outfit.

Ten Furlongs interviews Dubai based fashion designer Ameerah Kurbatova to find outmore about racing attire in the UAE.

Q: Firstly, What are the best types of women’s wear suited for a race night atMeydan?

A: The best type of women's wear at Meydan is something smart casual for normalracing. Despite for World cup you can play with unique outfits. It can be adress, a suit, a top with skirt or pants. But my suggestion is to keep it on the modest side. If it is a dress, then should be not short, but not too long in same time. Definitely casual wear such as jeans, sweaters and sport clothes are notsuitable for racing at Meydan or elsewhere.

In wintertime is perfect to wear something like Chanel type suits and woollen Jackets.

Q: What kind of outfit parings would you suggest?

A: The most important to choose a right pair of shoes. It should be comfortable tobe on the grass or move around. A good choice will be platform or thick heel. For winter time keep a jacket with you, as racing starts in the evening.

Q: Would you say the women's UAE national dress is something which could be worn at Meydan?

A: Regarding national dress at the races, of course, it's suitable as we areliving in Muslim country and it is their traditions. With modest Arab fashion growing so fast we can observe very beautiful and very fashionable abayas, not necessarily simply black colour.

Q: What kind of trends are you predicting for this racing seasons? What should we expect to see on the turf?

A: Dubai's fashion is a mixture of fashion from all around the world. 153 nationalities living in this energetic modern city and each of them try to bring their own fashion over here.

I can say this city is a melting pot of fashion.

And great part of it, everybody feels very comfortable to wear their own styleand trends over here. Here we can see mix of modesty and chic, combinations of pastel and absolutelyelectric colours, very classic and a lot of traditional wear from all around the world.

Q: So what will be trends of SS'19 season?

A: First and absolute trend is puffed shoulders. Often gathered with pleats of elastic, they work particularly well with square necklines on feminine dresses.

Then sequins, which can be as a small decoration on your outfit as well as a full outfit!

Followed by neon colours. There is definitely an art to mixing them.

In2019 we will see a lot of influence coming from 80's, but of course in new interpretation.A lot of plaid, layers and denim, pleated pants.

Q: Could you tell us more about your own brand of fashion and how did you get intofashion designing?

A: I was in fashion since my childhood, as my grandmother was a designer.

Since I was 5 years old I was fascinated by all fashion books she had at home, the dresses she was making and fashionable women walking in to her workshop. My first dress I made when I was 14. Then I started getting inquiries from my girlfriends. I'm very lucky I have opportunity to Learn all secrets from my grandmother and even still she is beside me. And here I am, having my own brand "GÁLA by Ameera"This brand is for women, Who is following trends, but likes classic in sametime, who is not scared to be unique and shows her personality.
